Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Totesnap. It is short because the app is simple: you record your own spending, on your own device, and we try to keep the app working.
Last updated 12 August 2026
The short version
- Your snaps belong to you. We claim no ownership of them.
- Totesnap is a record-keeping tool, not a financial adviser, an accountant, or a bank.
- Because your data lives only on your device, keeping a backup is your responsibility.
01
Who can use Totesnap
You may use Totesnap if you are old enough to hold an App Store or Google Play account in your country and can enter a binding agreement there. By installing the app you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please uninstall it.
02
Your snaps are yours
The photos, amounts, notes, and limits you record remain entirely yours. We claim no licence over them and, since they are stored on your device rather than on our servers, we have no access to them in the first place.
Anything you export and post elsewhere — a share card, a monthly recap — is published by you, and you are responsible for what it shows.
03
Totesnap is not financial advice
Totesnap helps you write down what you spent and shows you the arithmetic of a daily limit. It does not give financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and nothing it displays should be treated as a recommendation.
The figures shown are only as accurate as what you enter. Rounding, a mistyped amount, or a purchase you forgot to snap will all change the totals. Decisions about your money remain yours, and for advice about them you should speak to a qualified professional.
04
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use Totesnap for anything unlawful, or to record or share content you have no right to;
- attempt to break, decompile, or work around the app’s purchase checks;
- abuse the support channel, including sending other people’s personal information through it.
06
Availability and changes
We may update the app, change or remove features, and adjust what is included in premium. Features that depend on outside services — map tiles, geocoding, the stores — can be interrupted for reasons beyond our control, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability.
07
Backups and data loss
Your data lives on your device. If you lose the device, uninstall the app, or your storage fails, your snaps go with it, and we cannot recover them because we never held a copy.
Totesnap can export a backup archive. Making backups, and keeping them somewhere safe, is your responsibility.
08
Liability
Totesnap is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for financial decisions you make while using the app.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights, which stand regardless of these terms.
09
Ending these terms
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling Totesnap. We may end it if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — your ownership of your content and the liability limits — continue to apply afterwards.
Wherever you live, the consumer protections granted by the law of your own country apply to this agreement, and nothing in these terms takes them away from you.
10
Contact
Totesnap is an independent app, made and maintained by one person. Questions about these terms can go to totesnap@hidayata.dev, or through Settings → Support in the app.
